European AV & Public Transport Event in Amsterdam
Autonomous mobility in Europe is shifting from pilots to scaling commercial public transportation routes. This is due to a combination of maturing technology and introduction of regulatory frameworks, such as the EU General Safety Regulation that mandates automation readiness by 2025, and the launch of the new ITS Directive 2.0 and the EU General Safety Regulation (2024) that defined data and safety standards for autonomous vehicles.
Currently, more than 40 European cities are testing autonomous buses and shuttles. In Europe, there is also a noticeable shift from pilot to procurement – cities now buy fleets. To keep pace with these developments, OEMs and operators are scaling.
In light of these developments, Global Mass Transit has invited Imagry’s CEO, Eran Ofir, to share his insights about related topics at the conference they are organizing called ‘Autonomous Vehicles & Public Transport Europe 2026’ scheduled to take place on May 27 at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel.
